On April 19, Consul-General Li Xuhang attended the Ramadan charity donation activity at Al-quoz Labor Camp in Dubai, distributing iftar and sending Ramadan blessings to local low-income labor groups. The event saw the participation of Dr. Omar Al-Muthanna, CEO of the Social Regulatory and Licensing Agency for the Community Development Authority, and representatives from more than ten members of the Chinese Business in UAE and more than 20 overseas Chinese associations, such as the UAE Overseas Chinese Federation. Local mainstream media and Chinese media were present to cover the event.

Consul-General Li Xuhang thanked the Dubai Community Development Authority, the Chinese Business in UAE and the Chinese expatriates in the UAE for their strong support for this event. He highlighted that Ramadan is a season of self-discipline, love and mutual support for Muslims. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the “100 Million Meals” campaign, demonstrating the Ramadan-specific characteristics of charity and care. This campaign also aligns with President Xi Jinping’s Global Civilization Initiative. This is the seventh consecutive year that the Consulate-General in Dubai has organized the Ramadan donation activity, which has received positive responses from Chinese expatriates, enterprises and overseas students in Dubai. More than 10,000 iftar meals were collected within a short time to show love and care for the local low-income groups. In the post-COVID era, China and the UAE have seen explosive growth in exchanges and cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides work together, seek common development, spend a safe and peaceful Ramadan and seize the opportunity to create a better future.

Dr. Omar Al-Muthanna highly appreciated the generous donations of the Chinese side and acknowledged the Consulate-General in Dubai and Chinese expatriates and enterprises for their active participation in charitable Ramadan activities and iftar distribution in the labor camp. These gestures fully reflect the Chinese side’s respect for the local traditional customs and highlight the excellent qualities of the Chinese people’s readiness for charity. Overseas Chinese groups and enterprises actively integrate into the local society and contribute to the local socioeconomic development. Dubai Community Development Authority is willing to provide enduring services and support the development of overseas Chinese groups.

On the same day, Consul-General Li Xuhang was interviewed by local mainstream media and Chinese media.
