Consul General Li Xuhang met with Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai

On December 14, Consul General Li Xuhang met with Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, accompanied by Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqeti, General Director Assistant of GDRFA’s Airport Passport Sector.

Consul General Li Xuhang introduced the outcomes and significance of the successful convening of the first China-Arab States Summit and the China-GCC Summit. He said that China would work with the UAE to promote the eight joint actions and join hands with the GCC countries in five key cooperation areas to build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era. Li Xuhang thanked GDRFA in Dubai for its long-standing support to the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, noting that GDRFA in Dubai provides various quality services for incoming Chinese citizens. The Golden Visa and other innovative initiatives launched by the UAE in recent years are widely welcomed by the Chinese expatriates. As China has recently introduced a series of optimized COVID-19 control initiatives, Li Xuhang hoped both sides could seize the post-pandemic opportunities to promote friendly people-to-people exchanges between China and the UAE.

Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri said that China and the UAE share a long-lasting friendship, highlighting the regional and global significance of the China-Arab States Summit and the China-GCC Summit. The UAE is paying close attention to the series of new initiatives taken by China recently to control the pandemic and looks forward to an early return to the people-to-people exchanges at the pre-pandemic level. He welcomed Chinese citizens to study, work and live in Dubai, and the GDRFA in Dubai will continue to provide better services for Chinese citizens.
