On September 21, 2021, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Consul General Li Xuhang sent festival greetings to staff of Chinese enterprises on some major projects in the Chinese consular district in Dubai and gave specific guidance on the key work of each enterprise. Vice Consul-General Sun Xudong and Counsellor Wu Yi also sent their greetings.
Chinese enterprises responsible for Phase 4 of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, Hassyan Clean Coal Power Station, and Sections C and D of Stage Two of the Etihad Rail network among other major projects in the consular district reported on the progress of each project, including safe production, risk management, and regular prevention and control of COVID-19. Representatives of the front-line workers talked about their work, lives and thoughts in Dubai.
Consul General Li Xuhang fully recognized the achievements of these enterprises in keeping the “dual-stability” of foreign investment and trade, preventing imported COVID-19 cases and resuming work and production. He encouraged every enterprise to continue to utilize their organizational advantages on the basis of their previous work and implement the following requirements. First, raise political awareness, recognize the significance of the prevention and control of COVID-19 in overseas enterprises, and well implement the latest requirements for employees in overseas Chinese enterprises to go back to China, i.e., such employees must complete their first COVID-19 nucleic acid test and IgM antibody test 21 days before boarding at a designated medical institution and carry out closed-loop self-quarantine afterwards. second, firmly uphold the principle of safe development and effectively improve the awareness of safe production. Third, carry out in-depth ideological work and provide more care to employees.
Finally, Consul General Li Xuhang urged the enterprises to enhance the practice of 24-hour duty during the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day Holiday so as to be well prepared for emergencies. He stressed that the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai will offer solid support and backing for everyone and will continue to work with them to overcome difficulties.
The persons in charge of the enterprises unanimously stated that they would follow the deployment of the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, align their thoughts and actions with relevant requirements in a timely manner, and continue to implement the practices of safe production, risk management, regular prevention and control of COVID-19, keeping “dual-stability” of foreign investment and trade and preventing imported COVID-19 cases among others so as to promote high-quality development of the Belt and Road initiative.
