2021-08-31 15:44

On the morning of August 30, Consul General Li Xuhang attended a webinar on overseas image promotion of Chinese enterprises. Commercial Counselor Wu Yi also joined the event. The webinar was sponsored by the Chinese Business Council in the UAE and the Bank of China Dubai Branch, and was presided over by Zhou Jianjun, president of BOC Dubai Branch. Dozens of Chinese business leaders in the Dubai consular district attended the webinar.

Li Xuhang said that corporate image is an important part of national image. Chinese firms in the consular district must raise the awareness that publicity is also productivity and do a good job of telling stories of Chinese enterprises and brands so as to create an enabling external environment for their own development. Chinese companies have been investing in the UAE for many years, contributing significantly to local communities and to the construction and development of Dubai and the UAE at large. At present, the economic cooperation and trade between China and the UAE is booming and the two countries are enjoying a “golden era” in relations. This creates a favorable environment and provides rich material for Chinese enterprises to tell their stories well. As many Chinese firms will join the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai, during which the Chinese Pavilion will also hold a series of activities, Li Xuhang hoped that the Chinese enterprises could plan ahead and prepare carefully so as to make good use of this precious opportunity to present a real and comprehensive image of Chinese firms to the world.

Zhang Yuchen, head of the editorial office of China Media Group Middle East, Ge Jia, executive director of China Arab TV, and Li Shi, president of Huawei Cloud and Computing Middle East, shared their experiences and practices of publicity with talks titled “Hands-on practices of media relations in the UAE and the Middle East”, “Enhance international reputation of Chinese enterprises going abroad by using media to guide public opinion” and “Huawei’s marketing strategies” respectively. Following their talks, they took questions from the audience.

Business leaders attending the webinar said that they were encouraged and inspired by this timely, relevant and instructive event, and that they would vigorously strengthen their promotional skills so as to make their due contribution to shaping a credible, lovable and respectable image of China.
